7 Days of Fasting + Awaken Nights

September 27 – October 3

There are moments when we intentionally set aside the distractions of everyday life and turn our attention toward God. As one church, across every campus, we are setting aside seven days for corporate prayer and fasting—believing that as we seek Him together, He will meet us.

From September 27 through October 3, we invite our entire New Life family to join us as we fast, pray, worship, and seek God together.

This is more than giving something up. It is an opportunity to create room for God—to draw closer to Him, align our hearts with His, and believe together for His direction, His presence, and His power in our lives, our families, our church, and our city.

AWAKEN NIGHTS
Five Nights. Five Locations. One Church.

As we fast throughout the week, we’re also coming together every night, Monday through Friday at 7 PM, for Awaken Nights.

Awaken Nights are intentional spaces for extended worship and corporate prayer.

Each night will be hosted at a different New Life location. While every gathering may look a little different, the heart will remain the same: to seek the presence of God together.

These nights aren't just for the campus hosting that evening. We are inviting all of New Life to move together throughout the week.

AWAKEN NIGHT SCHEDULE

Monday–Friday · 7 PM

Northwest Campus

MONDAY I 7 PM

We begin our Awaken Nights together at Northwest as we set the tone for a week of worship, prayer, and seeking God.

Southwest Campus

TUESDAY I 7 PM

On Tuesday, we continue our journey together at Southwest, gathering as one church in prayer and worship.

Elgin Campus

WEDNESDAY I 7 PM

Midweek, we gather at Elgin to continue pressing into what God is doing throughout our church.

Spanish Campus

THURSDAY I 7 PM

On Thursday, Awaken continues with our Spanish-speaking church family for a night centered on worship and prayer.

Humboldt Park Campus

FRIDAY I 7 PM

We come together at Humboldt Park for the final Awaken Night—a unified gathering as we close out the week of nightly worship and prayer together.

HOW WE’RE FASTING

One Meal a Day

Throughout these seven days, we are asking our church family to participate in a one-meal-a-day fast.

Rather than simply skipping meals, we encourage you to intentionally use the time you would normally spend eating to pray, read Scripture, worship, and seek God.

Whether this is your first time fasting or fasting is already part of your spiritual rhythm, the goal remains the same: to seek God intentionally and make room to hear from Him.

As you fast, we encourage you to pray for:

A deeper relationship with Jesus
Spiritual renewal and awakening
Your family and relationships
Direction and wisdom for the season ahead
Our church and every New Life campus
Our neighborhoods and the city of Chicago
Those who do not yet know Jesus

We are fasting individually, but we are seeking God together.

WHY WE FAST

In Ezra 8, Ezra and the people of God found themselves preparing for a journey that required God's protection, provision, and direction.

Their response was to fast.

“So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer.” — Ezra 8:23

Fasting reminds us that our dependence is not on ourselves—it is on God.

For seven days, we are choosing to seek Him together. We are making room to listen. We are praying with expectation. And we are believing that the same God who heard the prayers of His people in Ezra is still the God who hears His people today.

No registration is necessary.

Simply choose to participate in the fast and then join us throughout the week for Awaken Nights.
